Brighton-Best International, an International Master Fastener Distributor, has an immediate job opening for a Full-Time Quality Application Engineer in the Strongsville, Ohio area. Compensation to commensurate with experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to the entire organization and customer base
- Provide failure analysis, by working with customers and suppliers, to include root cause analysis and documentation for a diverse range of fasteners
- Oversee, maintain, and review quality documentation (Material, Chemical, Dimensional inspection, Coating or Plating, & Thread lock certifications)
- Review orders to ensure product meets industry and customer requirements
- Audit and monitor supply base
- Work in the frame work of an accredited materials testing laboratory
- Communicate as needed with global customer base, employees, and suppliers
- Train and mentor less experienced employees in the understanding of industry standards, specifications, and application
- Give technical training seminars to customer base and employees
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Previous experience as an application engineer, manufacturing (preferably fasteners), or a similar role in a related field
- Working experience in a high level quality management system
- Deep knowledge of product application, industry standards, and testing equipment and standards
- Working onsite in the Strongsville, OH Location
Knowledge and Skill:
- Fastener and product application knowledge
- Knowledge in metallurgy, heat treatment, surface finishing, and thread lock application
- Understanding of industry standards (ASTM, ANSI, IFI, DIN, ISO)
- Interpretation of blue print drawings (CAD or Solidworks trained a plus)
- Understanding of quality documentation to include PPAP, FAI, & ISIR
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Competency in computer and Microsoft office products
